 | Master Card Prepaid Gift Card Requirements
IRVINE, California - April 14, 2010
MasterCard has recently announced mandatory changes. These changes only affect prepaid gift/credit cards issued by MasterCard. There are 3 new requirements as defined below:
- Partial Approval – The value on the gift card can not satisfy the amount of the transaction. The POS needs to be able to split the payment for the guest and pay part of the transaction with the gift card and the reminder with another form of tender.
- Balance Response – The ability to look up the remaining on the card for purchases.
- Authorization Reversal – If a transaction is authorized on a card but not tendered to that card, the authorization needs to be removed so the card is able to be used.

| Daylight Saving Time Update
Starting in the spring of 2007, daylight saving time (DST) start and end dates for the United States will transition to comply with the Energy Policy Act of 2005. DST dates in the United States will start three weeks earlier (2:00 A.M. on the second Sunday in March) and will end one week later (2:00 A.M. on the first Sunday in November).

While many kiosks are used in self-service applications, the kiosks at The Cheesecake Factory are being used by kitchen staff to prepare food and check recipes. The Cheesecake Factory has purchased about 75, said Jeremy Julian, vice president of support services at Custom Business Solutions.
